ABOUT ME
Hi, I’m Lindsey!
I am a Product Designer for Capital One's In-person Services team. I am responsible for the ATM platform experience in branches and cafes, which helps customers self-service their cash needs, while helping the business grow deposits, win prospectives, and retain current customers.
I started doing product design in 2016 at a small startup in Santa Barbara, CA. I designed their hybrid online education and e-commerce platform. I grew with that company for 6 years until it was sold in 2021. In 2017, I also started my freelance business which offered product, brand, and marketing services to small businesses and creative agencies. My client list spread from southern California to Vancouver, Milwaukee, Connecticut, and New York. In mid-2021, I joined Invitae as a graphic designer, and was promoted to product designer by the end of 2022.
I earned my BFA in Design and Technology from Parsons The New School. I also have a Google Certificate in Foundations of UX Design. For more details on my qualifications, check out my resume.

PHILOSOPHY

Empathy is a core tenet of my work. I use flexible research methods to understand and advocate for my users. What are their main goals? What are the major problems they run into? What makes them feel accomplished or sparks joy?

Does it integrate and scale within the business portfolio? Does it solve the right problem? Is it smart and sleek? There are multiple checkpoints in my process to evaluate user needs, business strategy, and technical feasibility.

I don’t mind diving into hairy design systems, or building new ones from scratch. I have the most fun when I am balancing color, form, space and time.
